About Savonlinna Railway Station

The central railway station in Savonlinna was permanently closed in 2012 due to national railway works in Finland. As a replacement, a smaller open-air station was opened in Kauppatori and is one of the termini along the Savonlinna-Parikkala route. This station is simple but functional, offering easy access to the local area and surrounding towns. Upon arrival, you'll find only one side platform with a nearby ticket vending machine. The raised platform provides accessible entry onto low-floor trains, making it easy for passengers with mobility needs. The station serves as an ideal starting point for exploring the beautiful region of Savonlinna.
